I am delighted to be participating again in the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop, hosted by Inspired Kathy at I Am a Reader Not a Writer. This is a HUGE hop, with over 500 participants. Officially, it runs from October 24 – 31, but with so many participants, Kathy asked us to post a day early so that she can update all the links. This means an extra day to start hopping and putting in your entries!
- A signed ARC of THE CAGED GRAVES (U.S. shipping)
- A signed copy of WE HEAR THE DEAD (U.S. shipping)
- A Kindle ebook of TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES: DARK RETELLINGS OF MOTHER GOOSE RHYMES (I don’t have a story in this year’s Month9Books charity anthology, but look for me in the 2013 edition!)
Entering is easy. Just leave a comment on this post as per the directions below. You are welcome to try for all three!
- For a chance to win THE CAGED GRAVES ARC, suggest a reason why anyone would want to cage a grave.
- For a chance to win WE HEAR THE DEAD, name a dead historic figure you’d like to talk to.
- For a chance to win TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES, name the Mother Goose rhyme you find the creepiest.
- You can also get an extra entry for the book of your choice by becoming a new blog follower.
Good luck, and may everybody be a winner some place in this hop!
That is a lot of participants. For The Caged Graves, there are so many possibilities – I can’t wait to see what you came up with. I think it’s to keep the zombies in the grave…or to keep the locals from digging up the body to burn the witch or religious deviant.
May I take a stab at all three?
1. Somebody might want to prevent the zombie from getting out.
2. I’d love to talk to Amelia Earhart, just to ask her what the heck really happened.
3. Creepiest Mother Goose rhyme: Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater. I mean, come on…putting your wife in a pumpkin shell? Yeesh. (Yeah, I’m claustrophobic.)
What a fantastic HOP! SOOO many.
Awesome. I remember when I had first found your blog it was when THE CAGED GRAVES was destined for publication. So I would like to enter for that …
As doe the reason. Something magical, mystical, eerie, powerful, and deadly is buried there. The cage is to keep everyone out except …. the one who is expected …. they may enter, but at what cost?
This is a huge hop! Takes forever to scroll to the comments!
Cage a grave…to jail zombies.
Dead historic figure…Abraham Lincoln because I want to know…were you really a vampire hunter…LOL!

Could I try for all three of them?
For a chance to win THE CAGED GRAVES ARC: You don’t want those zombies escaping…
For a chance to win WE HEAR THE DEAD: Caesar Augustus
For a chance to win TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES: I’ll have to agree with Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater
I also followed you!
Several to choose from, but the Pumpkin Eater one definitely wins for the moment. (Yay, 2 and 20 DARK TALES!)
Of course, the most obvious thing that first comes to mine for why to put a cage over a grave is to keep the zombies in! But it stands to reason that if a zombie can dig UP to get out, it can dig OVER to get under the cage!
I would want to cage a grave to keep the grave diigers from undigging my insane brain.
I would love to talk to Stephen Hawkings. So many questions.
The Mother Goose Rhyme I find the creepiset is London Bridges burning down.

In hopes that a vampire would stake itself trying to get out. (Would need to be a wooden cage obviously). Surprised Buffy never thought of that one…
For a chance to win WE HEAR THE DEAD, name a dead historic figure you’d like to talk to.
For a chance to win TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES, name the Mother Goose rhyme you find the creepiest.
Pease porridge. What horrible things might lurk in a pot nine days old. Why’s it been sitting around and how hungry would you have to be to eat it?
Whoops, dead historical figure I’d like to talk to is Queen Elizabeth. Love the Tudors!
For The Caged Graves: Perhaps a grave would be caged because the person in the grave is undead. The cage is to keep it in.
For We Hear the Dead: I would love to talk to Anne Boleyn.
Yea! Very fun.
1. For a chance to win THE CAGED GRAVES ARC: They’re for display only, to keep in pristine condition.
2. For a chance to win WE HEAR THE DEAD: Amelia Earhart; just read her biography and want to know where she went!
3. For a chance to win TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES: Three Little Blackbirds in the pie. Gross.
Thank you!
1) For The Caged Graves: I’d want to cage a grave if I suspected a vampire were sleeping in there!
2) For We Hear the Dead: I’d love to talk to Cleopatra and find out her side of the story!

Awesome Giveaway!!
1. I think a cage on a grave would be there to keep the ‘dead’ from getting out. (ps LOVE that cover!)
2. Not a historical person … but I really wish I could talk to my mom (she passed 6 years ago as of tomorrow) and good grief I miss our daily chats. 🙁
3. I never liked ‘There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe’ … a stinky shoe? really? and then too many kids and nothing to eat? It’s just a disaster waiting to happen!
I’m following you all over the place now and have added your books to my to-read list on GR.
truly looking forward to reading these!
thanks!

3. Mother Hubbard in a Cupboard. 😀
Caged graves are best places to stash your goods for any pending Apocalypse. Feel free to load your guns, food, water and medical supplies. Better yet, most caged graves are used as entrances to underground tunnels leading to state-of-the-art, computer operated, dead-fueled, self-contained bunker operations. Doesn’t everybody know that?
Thanks for the giveaway!
1. cage a grave to capture a vampire
2. I’d talk to Abe Lincoln

I would love to win WE HEAR THE DEAD. The historic figure from the past I would like to meet would probably be Abraham Lincoln. He grew up here in Kentucky, and I just think it would be amazing to talk to him!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’d like to be entered to TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES.
The Mother Goose rhyme that I find the creepiest is Ring Around The Rosy. The “all fall down” part is the people dying from smallpox!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Great prizes! For The Caged Graves I would say to keep zombies at bay. catiesmoviesinmyhead at gmail dot come
WE HEAR THE DEAD
I’d love to hear from Thomas Jefferson.
erma2167@sbcglobal.net
THE CAGED GRAVES ARC: Simple. To keep the dead (zombie or vampire) where they’re suppose to be. Six feet under.
WE HEAR THE DEAD: Leonardo da Vinci, because he’d be fascinating to talk to.
TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES: Ring Around the Rosy, hands down.
The Caged Graves: Well, we all know that the dead can get out of even a cage, so I’d say to keep people from walking on it and being the next to die!
thanks for the chance 🙂 Good luck to all!
